Harkaway Villa is 45Kms North of Kaikoura. the Villa was built in 1917 and saved by demolition by it's antique loving owners. The house has been totally restored and it's rimu timber finishing and beautiful furnishings offer a warm and inviting home. The furnishings date from 1920's or earlier however the Villa is equipped with all the modern amenities, no expense has been spared to blend them in with the period style. This is truly a place for relaxation, taking in the magnificent scenery all around you. The Clarence River runs at the base of the 14 acre property and offers a swimming hole in the summer and fishing year round. The side boundary is a nature reserve and a lovely place to spot native birds and enjoy their birdsong. This is an ideal base from which to explore the amazing Kaikoura inland and coastal areas. River rafting is available close by and fishing guides and tours are handy to the property. These activities can all be arranged as part of an accommodation package.
